
An instructor-led, classroom-based Heartsaver CPR AED course, which teaches participants critical skills and knowledge needed to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services arrives.
This course covers:
• medical emergencies (including actions for choking, breathing problems, and shock) • adult CPR AED • child CPR AED (optional module) • infant CPR (optional module)
This course is intended for individuals who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements. It is ideal for nursing assistants, coaches, athletes, members of sports teams, personal trainers, restaurant employees, hotel staff, teachers, and industrial safety teams. This course is also appropriate for all members of the community who want to be prepared in the event of a cardiac arrest or serious life threatening injury.
After the instruction, students are required to demonstrate their skills for certification. Their is no written exam requirement. Upon successful completion of the course, you will be First Aid / CPR / AED certified for 2 years and receive an AHA certification card (Included in your course fee).
The course takes approximately 4 hours to complete (depending on class size).
The AHA Student Workbook is required for this course and is available for purchase separately if you do not already have access to one. It is also useful as a post-course reference book. The manual is based on the 2015 American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR and ECC.
